The Collection Part II
Old Chinese Snuff Bottles: Notes, With a Catalogue of a Modest Collection
Old Chinese Snuff Bottles: Notes, With a Catalogue of a Modest Collection
by Henry C. Hitt
Includes an original Japanese Tuttle (the publisher) purchase receipt. Very little reference work on snuff bottles existed when Henry Hitt put together his first and second (1945) privately printed editions of this text and one supplement. This first edition of the 1978 Tuttle publication brings together both original editions plus the supplement. Essentially, this work was republished by Tuttle so as not to lose Hitt's otherwise-unavailable original, scholarly work. Well illustrated (see photos) throughout and reprinted as written by Hitt. One beautiful color tipped-in image in front.
