Of course returns are welcome. Please return your undamaged purchase for a full refund.

I'm looking for a gift. Will my order be gift-wrapped?

If you are buying a book as a gift, rest assured you will have a beautifully wrapped gift ready to go, right out of its pristine, white shipping box. We use only the highest quality paper and gift enclosure with satin ribbon in elegant and seasonally appropriate colors.

PLEASE NOTE: All books purchased from the Specialized Gift Section (Topical Gift Books, Elegant Editions, Sets and Collections, and Curiosities) will automatically be gift wrapped. For other selections, please indicate at checkout if you wish your purchase to be gift wrapped, and if you have a special request in mind - e.g, birthday, Christmas or other holiday, etc.

Do you make use of any Automatic Pricing Software?

Finally, we don’t believe in and will not engage in automatic pricing software. Yes, you can usually get the books that we list for several pennies less — the only advantage you would get from buying from dealers who use such software.

Associations of professional online booksellers do not allow automatic pricing software, for the reason that prices will then vary by the day and are unrelated to the actual worth of the book. When you see ridiculous prices for books — in the hundreds of dollars for ordinary books — that is automatic pricing software at work/gone crazy because other dealers are temporarily out of the book. You will then unsuspectingly pay more for a book than you should, simply because others are temporarily out of the book, and the pricing software has raised the price beyond actual worth.

So buyer beware with automatic pricing software!

How are the books protected during shipment?

Each of our books is also bubble-wrapped before being boxed for shipment, so it will arrive in perfect condition. We do not ship books in padded envelopes, as gift-quality books and books with soft covers can easily be damaged if not boxed. We pay to track every book.
