Comments: Geoffrey Chaucer, the Middle Ages poet, is revered as one of the first contributors to English literature and as having a vast influence on English language, literature, and poetry. He is best known for the Canterbury Tales, a collection of 24 stories written between 1387 and 1400 and told from the perspectives of various characters. This volume, printed in 1957 by one of Britain's finest printers, features all of Chaucer's works, in addition to a short introduction about Chaucer's life, a guide to grammar and pronunciation, and a glossary detailing the archaic vocabulary in the works. Its attractive blue cover has the Oxford University seal; upper edges have a decorative blue stain.
